    Wanted for binge-eating in gardens across North America and having a ferocious stink eye.

    Description: Ranging from 16-27 inches long, the groundhog can weigh up to 31 pounds – depending on how delicious your garden is (although most average around 9 pounds). Groundhogs have short limbs and feature a grey undercoat and a longer top coat of banded hairs (the animal kingdom’s frosted tips). Their tail is generally about a quarter of their overall length.
    DOB: Groundhogs engage in true hibernation, burrowing below the frost line from about October through March or April (or as early as December in some warmer climates). Most groundhogs breed during their second year, after hibernation, which is followed by a 31-32 day gestation period. Young groundhogs leave their den approximately five to six weeks after their birth.
    Occupation: When he’s not chucking wood, the groundhog moonlights as a weatherman. Also known to take work as a lab rat.
    Last known whereabouts: Native to North America, groundhogs are known to frequent most of Eastern and Midwestern American up through Canada and parts of Alaska.
    Remarks: The groundhog is known to associate with American actor Bill Murray. Reported to be an angry driver and a great whistler.
